Lithuania

Lithuania is a country in Northern Europe on the eastern coast of the Baltic Sea. It borders Latvia to the north, Belarus to the east and south, Poland to the south, and Kaliningrad Oblast' (a RF exclave) to the southwest. Lithuania has an estimated population of 2.8 million people. The World Bank labels Lithuania as a high-income economy. Three largest sectors in Lithuanian economy are – services, industry and agriculture.

Humana Baltic sponsorship in Lithuania

From the onset in 1998, Humana Baltic has been committed to social responsibility and responding to the needs of marginalised and vulnerable people. Humana Baltic generously responds to requests for sponsorship in kind by social institutions and NGOs who take care for people in need, e.g. homelees people, persons with disabilities, prison inmates, etc. Every year Humana Baltic donates tens of tons of carefully selected second hand clothes and foot wear.

Since 2007, Humana Baltic engaged in partnership with NGOs, schools and sponsors their projects via the programme “Eat wisely” what is implemented in partnership with schools and local NGOs all over the country and in colaboration with the EDU Vilnius, an Education Agency of Vilnius municipality.

Moreover, Humana Baltic is a founding member of the Lithuanian NGO Platform for Development Cooperation, established in 2007.

Humana Baltic is a significant contributor to the state budget: the 137th largest taxpayer in Lithuania (2024).
