Child Aid Rushinga was established in 1994 with the aim of building the capacity of families and their communities to work towards improving the lives of children. It is a community-based project involving 3.200 families, their children and communities organized to take action against their own issues.
The project reaches poor families and vulnerable people in 6 wards addressing a range of community development issues, including health and sanitation, income generation, education, district development, environmental awareness and greater opportunities for children. The people are organized in community groups of 15-20 people each - called Village Action Groups.
