The teacher Training program was first implemented in India in 2009 in the state of Chhattisgarh and since then the program has been scaled up together with state-governments in five states, including Haryana, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. The program was introduced in Ranchi, Jharkhand in 2018. At present, it is being implemented in 17 Districts Institutes for Education and Training and two Government Elementary Teacher Training Institute. In addition to this, another education program, PRARAMBH – School for Teacher Education inspired by the Teacher Training program has been running in partnership with the Government of Haryana and Humana People to People India in Jhajjar district since 2013. At the end of 2018, 4,970 student-teachers are under training in the Teacher Training Program, which has impacted the quality of teachers’ training positively, and the same has been acknowledged by the State Authorities, as well as the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
