Sustainable Agriculture and Environment
Humana Baltic works with partners in 2 countries to support sustainable agriculture projects and the creation of Farmers’ Clubs, which work with small-scale farmers to help increase food production, address issues surrounding food security and strengthen community ties. These projects train farmers in sustainable farming methods, such as crop diversification and rotation, soil and water conservation, organic farming methods and other environmentally friendly practices. Farmers’ Clubs strengthen cooperation between farmers, and help secure land rights, access to markets and financial support for small-scale farmers, many of whom are women.
